Text Box: Purdy Peppy Lady (403,968)
Purdy is the pride and joy of our place. I have had the pleasure of owning her since she was a yearling and knew when I saw her being broke to ride that I would keep her forever. She never once bucked and has had the best temperament of any horse I have ever owned. She is very willing and tries to please you. In the picture to the left, she is 10 months pregnant with her 2005 colt with three of our five children riding her. I am not afraid to put anyone on her and know that she will build confidence in anyone who rides her.
I have shown her in Western Pleasure at the local level for SCSHA in Kansas and placed high in each class. This was in the summer of 1999 during her two-year old year. That same year I took her to the Kansas Paint Horse Futurity in Wichita and placed 4th out of 17 horses in walk-trot WP. I have shown her in halter at a benefit show when she was around five years old and won the class against eight other horses.
Purdy was trained by Dale Adix and she has had some cutting training. Due to the expense of the sport and also the birth of our third child, I had to forego her training and decided to turn her into a broodmare for the time being. She has had four babies now, one of which is Gabe’s. She is an excellent mother and takes very good care of her babies. This last foal was not born on the webcam like the others because she decided it was best to foal outside in the middle of the day. Since she is an experienced mare, there were no problems with this foaling.
Purdy is not in foal this year and I plan on waiting a few more years before asking her to give us any more foals. Allison was able to ride her in the Princess Rodeo contest in Mulvane and Purdy proved to be a great playday horse. I couldn’t ask for a better mare.

Phantoms Purdy Image (670,077)
LittleGirl, as we call her, was foaled February 19, 2002. She was our first foal to be born on the webcam. This was Purdy’s second foal and our first to be born at the Montgomery Ponderosa. I was able to get out to the barn just in time to see the feet still out and helped with the birth. She has been imprinted since birth and has been relatively easy to handle since then.
LittleGirl was professionally trained by Dale Adix in the summer of 2004. She had 60 days training but has only had a limited number of rides since then because of the birth of our son. I have ridden her a few times this spring and she rides like there was no lapse in training. She doesn’t need ‘worn out’ before getting on her. You just throw the saddle on and go. She actually gets a little bored if you just ride her in the round pen and enjoys going for a ride down the road.
This year I have decided not to breed any of our mares back so LittleGirl is open. I also have been having fun riding with the kids and Scott. LittleGirl has proven that she likes the kids and stays calm for them to play around on her. I sometimes ride her and then pony Purdy beside her with the kids on.

No Purdy Freckles (850,555)
Freckle was born May 17th, 2004. She was our second webcam foal and was born at 4:30 in the morning. The birth was uneventful and Purdy showed us again what a wonderful mother she is. Freckles sire is a AQHA Colonel Freckles bred stallion that has since been gelded.
Freckle has been in cutting training at Dale Adix’s training barn for the last year and a half. Scott put the first rides on her when she was a two-year old. She has turned into a very beautiful mare. We plan to take her to the cutting pen and also some Ranch Horse Association events this summer.
She is for sale to the right person. She would make a great cutting/working cow horse as well as a great future broodmare.

Bruisers Fancy (349,629)
Panda is a daughter of Tru Bruiser bred by former APHA president Forrest Nelson out of a daughter of Mr. Individual. She has Painted Tru Tru on both her sire and dam side. This nice linebred mare ought to be a nice addition to our mare herd. She is in foal by a grulla stallion by Little Steel Dust. I have only had Panda a couple weeks but I know that she is friendly and calm and a relatively passive mare. She gets along great with Sunny and they nuzzle each other. I am hoping that once she foals that we can even break her to ride. I am not sure if she has any formal training since she had foals in 1999, 2000 and 2001. I was able to get her due to some unfortunate circumstances of her owner Ingrid (who had her since 2002). I traveled to Colorado to pick up this wonderful mare. I hope to give her a forever home here at the Montgomery Ponderosa.
