Text Box: Purdy Peppy Duke (822,458)
This is the foal I had been hoping for! Finally a paint foal with fantastic markings. Duke was born on John Wayne’s birthday, May 26th, 2005. My plans for this foal will be to show him at some local shows and then have him trained in either WP, reining or cutting. Whatever he excels in is what I want him to do. I am very happy with the first foal that Gabe and Purdy had for us.
Duke already has about 10 rides on him and I have personally ridden him down our road several times. I plan on training him to keep around here for the kids to ride and use him as a 4-H and possibly just an all-around playday horse. I gelded him this past winter and had his wolf teeth pulled. He is already showing me that he is going to be a fun horse for just about anyone.

Gabriels Purdy Angel (859,979)
Here is little Angel. LittleGirl gave birth to her April 8, 2006. Her story is here with more pictures. Angel is now a 2-year old...can you believe it. She is getting so big. I plan to just start her ground training this spring and then by summer have Scott start putting her first rides on.

Purdy Blazin’ Smart (902,135)
Ok, now this is one nice filly! Yes she is a solid but WOW! What a looker. She is Purdy’s fifth foal by Shannon’s stallion, Smart N Slinky, a paternal grandson of Smart Little Lena. She has some sabino and rabicano markings on her. Her tail is silver laced and she has lots of silver hairs running through her coat along her back and sides. Neat, neat filly. She is very friendly and willingly comes up to us and is very curious.
I do have plans for this foal. She will go to the cutting pen or do working cow horse or possibly even rein. She is built to do it all. Nice short back, very well balanced and very muscular. Scott came up with the name “Herfie” for her since he thought her blaze looked like a Hereford cow marking. :D

Purdy Flashy Dude (901,722)

On Friday, April 20, 2007, LittleGirl gave us another cute painted foal. This time a colt. What a little cutie he is. So sweet natured too. LG was laboring all throughout the early morning hours and I went out to feed her around 7am and she was waxing at 345 days. I knew that she would foal sometime that day. Then around 8:20am I saw her hunching up and then lay down once. She got back up for a few minutes and around 8:40 she laid back down again. I made a few calls to get everyone ready for the big event. Then at 8:45 she laid down, I heard the water break on the monitor and the feet were starting to be delivered. I ran out to the barn as fast as I could. Scotty and Jessica were still in their chairs eating breakfast. Then she pushed several times and got up once or twice. She had the head and one whole leg out but then one foot was still only out to the fetlock. I decided to go in and slide that one leg forward to straighten the foal out. It just easily moved into position then after that I just let her do the rest on her own. “Textbook delivery” with no problems. Yay!

In Memory of
Purdy Peppy Phantom (628,474)
Phantom was Purdy’s first foal and sadly he passed over the Rainbow Bridge in December of 2002 just shy of his second birthday. Scott and I had trained this colt ourselves and were proud of the work we had accomplished. We had ridden him probably ten times before his injury. He was very calm natured and would have made a great kids horse. We used some of the John Lyons techniques we had learned at Equifest of Kansas to gentle him.
Honestly I don’t know what caused his injury, but one morning I fed and everyone was fine and then a few hours later I looked out and Phantom was hobbling on three legs. I instantly thought “Broken leg”. There was a small puncture wound on the inside of his hock. I have no idea how he would get such a wound. His leg over the next couple of days swelled and became infected in the joint. I took him to Dale’s and he tried everything to save him but it was too late. We decided to end his suffering and he now rests at our place peacefully. I still miss him to this day.
