Hand Crafted Oxen Yokes |

|
My father-in-law, James Montgomery, makes these uniquely crafted ox yokes. He came up with the idea when he was asked to make a set of yokes from some blue prints from the Smithsonian for his dad. He said “There’s got to be a way to use these for something other than oxen.” So he decided to get creative and make hat racks (Stetson Stations), and clock hangers, and still yet another idea of a gun rack. Each ox yoke is made to spec from an old manuscript that tells the dimensions needed to make each yoke. The bows that fit around the oxen necks are made by the Amish who bend them to shape. The yoke itself is made from cottonwood trees from Scott’s Grandpa’s farm. These yokes can be made to be decorative or totally functional for use with oxen. To have your own oxen yoke just email Jim or Scott goodolboy@pixius.net Prices vary according to size and detail. |
